Accomplishments

  • Every quarter at Starbucks a partner is voted Partner of the Quarter. This award signifies that the partner selected has performed exceptionally, as decided, through votes, by the store collectively. At my first store, I won this award within the first few months of working there. I was sixteen at the time, and it was my first job, so I was very surprised but also incredibly honored. Winning that award so early on in my professional career proved to me that I can, and have, excel at new challenges- both in a personal and professional setting.

Affiliations

  • Starting my senior year of high school, I started volunteering for the Smyth County Animal Rescue. I stayed there until I started attending Roanoke College. Once I got to Roanoke, I got involved with the Service Leadership Fellowship where I worked at a local elementary school as a lunch buddy, and at times, a teacher's aid. Furthermore, in the spring semester of my sophomore year I started volunteering at Gentiva Hospice. Here, I sat with an individual who lived in a nursing home and had limited mobility. I have been able to excel at school, both college and high school, while also giving back to the community and working at Starbucks 15-20 hours a week.
