• The Sequoia Project, Board Member and Executive Committee, 2017-02, Present, The Sequoia Project is chartered as a non-profit501(c)(3) in the public interest to advance the implementation of secure, interoperable nationwide health information exchange. They are responsible the management of the eHealth Exchange, the largest health information exchange in the nation, and the Carequality Initiative, a public-private, multi-stakeholder collaborative working to promote interoperability.
• DIRECTTRUST, Board Member, 2012-05, 2018-05, DirectTrust. is a non-profit trade association whose aim is the establishment and maintenance of a Trust Framework for Direct message exchange. A Trust Framework is a set of technical, business and legal standards expressed as policies and best practices which members of a trust community agree to follow, uphold and enforce.
• Consumer Task Force, 2016-03, 2017-04, The Consumer Task Force is a Collaboration of the Health IT Policy and Standards Committees, which makes recommendations and provides insight on ONC/HHS projects/initiatives with a consumer focus to ensure the person remains at the center, engaging the experience and feedback of both patients and providers.
• Q-LIFE, Board Member, 2008-11, 2016-11, Quality Life Intergovernmental Agency (QLife) is a collaborative effort of public entities in The Dalles, Oregon, who created a17-mile fiber optic loop through the city.
• INTEROPERABILITY AND HIE WORKGROUP, 2014-10, 2015-07, The Interoperability and Health Information Exchange Workgroup will provide input and make recommendations on policy issues and opportunities to facilitate the sharing of health information electronically among providers and patients/caregivers, in support of care management, coordination and improvements in health. The workgroup will consider implementation learnings from the field and will align efforts with other groups. The Workgroup will make recommendations that focus on policies that can help address implementation challenges and that promote a business and regulatory environment supportive of widespread information exchange in support of patient and population care. Examples of issues the Workgroup may consider include, but are not limited to health information exchange infrastructure, governance, and technology policy (such as patient matching).
• CONSUMER TECHNOLOGY WORKGROUP, 2013-03, 2014-07, The Consumer Technology Workgroup (CTWG) of the Health IT Standards Committee (HITSC) is charged with providing recommendations on standards and interoperability issues and opportunities related to strengthening the ability of consumers, patients, and lay caregivers to manage health and health care for themselves or others. The HITSC is a Federal Advisory committee charged with making recommendations to the National Coordinator on standards, implementation specifications, and certification criteria for the electronic exchange and use of health information for purposes of adoption, consistent with the implementation of the Federal Health IT Strategic Plan, and in accordance by the HIT Policy Committee.
• THE DALLES CITY COUNCIL, City Councilor, 2008-11, 2012-11, The City Council is the governing body of the City of The Dalles. Its five voting members and the Mayor set the direction for the City, establishing policies and laws. Specific voter approved powers for the Council is contained in the City Charter, while Council's own administrative and operational policies are adopted by the ordinance or resolution.
• MID-COLUMBIA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT, Board Member, 2009-11, 2013-01, The Mid-Columbia Council of Governments (MCCOG) serves a five county region in Oregon – Wasco, Hood River, Sherman, Gilliam, and Wheeler. The purpose of MCCOG is to respond to the request from federal and state governments, for local government, to assume a greater responsibility in local decision making, and to address the need for local governments to cooperate and work together for greater efficiencies.
