Head of CCE Flag Leader & Safety Patrol

For the last 10 years, I have been the head of the CCE Flag Leader and Safety Patrol 5th grade students to create a safe and respectful learning environment that also facilitates the arrival and departure of 10-15 buses per year.

Accomplishments

Helped create the first Scope & Sequence for all elementary school counseling in LCPS.

CASE: Career, Academic, Social, Emotion Lessons. I have been working with Heather Ross to advocate for the school counseling lessons to be called CASE Lessons. Why? It helps parents understand what we do as a school Counselor.

Trained in Restorative Circle and include a circle as part of the regular lesson.

Encourage student leadership by; randomly having the student picking a CASE Leader at the start of each lesson, created the CCE Flag & Safety Patrol Program, help students advocate for themselves.

Additional Information

Creating a Scope & Sequence for all LCPS elementary schools was a way to help advocate and ensure that students moving around the county would all have equal access to the same curriculum. There are resources, texts, links to SOL standards and ASCA Mindset & Behavior standards.

Created the Scope & Sequence for all LCPS elementary schools

Bullying prevention and education SEL; Participated in the review prior to its rolled out to all LCPS schools. 

Gaggle & computer safety. I shared a lesson with all of the elementary school counseling facilitators to help students understand be safe and how Gaggle facilitates the CIPA and COPPA to keep them safe online.  (2020 and have updated my lessons)
