We seek a skilled Database Migration Engineer to support migrating on-premises Oracle and SQL Server databases to AWS Cloud database platforms. The ideal candidate will also provide occasional support for our GCP infrastructure platform. This role requires a strong understanding of various IT subject areas, infrastructure technologies, and application development methodologies.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

* IT Subject Areas:

* Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of multiple IT domains, including development, configuration, deployment, testing, monitoring, and more.

* Infrastructure Technologies:

* Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies and application development methodologies.

* Proficient in System Administration tasks such as configurations, installations, patch management, and server maintenance.

* Strong knowledge of Network Management, including firewalls, proxies, IP management, routing, and DNS.

* Tools & Technologies:

* Proficient with GitLab.

* Solid understanding of Bootstrap framework.

* Cloud Services:

* Demonstrated experience with AWS services, including but not limited to KMS, Glue Catalog, Athena, IAM, S3, and Logging (EMR, EC2, RDS).

* Experience with the GCP infrastructure platform.

* Operating Systems:

* Proficient in Linux operating systems.

* Data Management:

* Knowledge and understanding of ETL processes and Informatica.

* Strong experience in debugging, identifying root causes, and solving application issues.

* Database Administration:

* 5+ years of DBA experience configuring and supporting multiple database platforms (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle).

* Experience in provisioning, upgrading, and tuning database services.

* Familiarity with provisioning new database services, especially for production deployments.

* Ability to guide efficient application design using database-managed services.

* Involvement in tuning exercises affecting application performance.

* Review DDL before deployment if requested by the application team without managing DDL on behalf of the application team.

Qualifications:

* 5+ years of DBA experience configuring and supporting various database platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server).

* 5+ years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP).

* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
