Senior Shellfish Specialist

  • Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: safety/sanitary/HACCP inspections on certified shellfish dealers; routine water quality monitoring in all shellfish growing areas on Virginia’s Eastern Shore; in depth pollution source tracking using programs such as Arc GIS mapping with the end goal being shared with industry, which is to promote clean water and be able to safely open as much growing area acres as possible; all of which include some form of data collection, entry, and analysis
