Medical assistant for the senior doctor at a three provider Urology office. My responsibilities include: rooming patients, taking vital signs, and updating patient history. I was responsible for drawing blood and catheter insertion. Assisted doctor on multiple different Urological procedures that included biopsies. I also was responsible for contacting patients with results and shipping off medical specimens. Helped work front desk during staffing shortages.

As a Nursing Care Partner, I assisted patients with daily hygiene, checked vital signs and prepared patients for meals. I performed rounds on my patients multiple times a shift. Performed safety care partner duties for vulnerable patients. Helped facilitate end of life care and post mortem care. Answered call bells and phone calls from a central location in the unit. Floated through different floors and specialties during staffing shortages.

Worked on a Gastroenterology floor at UVA main hospital. I worked nights on this unit and performed nightly rounds on patients. Helped room patients after emergency gastro surgeries. Provided patient care including vital checks and ambulating patients. Worked with doctors and nurses to create and enact a care plan for the patients.
