I have been chosen as employee of the month for 2 consecutive years at the Hotel. I been selected for employee of the year, for these same to years. This is for the "heart of the house"end

I was chosen to help Brenda Councill, an internationally known artist and sculptor.

Last year, I was Brenda's "apprentice" as we refinished the plaster dentil moulding in the main lobby. This was a 6 week project, very tedious, but I was thrilled to have been a part of it

In my short time at Virginia Furniture Market, we worked on commission and I consistently maintained the number 1 spot as far as sales

I am an aspiring artist!! I love any type of medium. I painted Christmas snow men for gifts last year for family . I also did a painted woven piece that I entered in our talent show at the hotel

For a little over 2 years, I have volunteered for Sleep In Heavenly Peace- Roanoke chapter.

SHP makes, delivers and sets up single beds for children in the Roanoke Valley from the ages of 3-17.

It is without a doubt, the best volunteer work I have ever done- hard to believe there are too many children in 2026 without a bed!

I am a core member, and I actually deliver and set up beds almost every Wednesday afternoon.

I volunteer for Family Promise, which is affiliated with my church( St. Andrew's)

We help moms( mostly) get back on track with job referrals, daycare, insurance, etc.

Family promise also provides meals for these families, and I volunteer to either cook, or bring a meal. We eat with them and really connect. We do this at the Baptist church on Brambleton.

I am a member of the CARE committee at the hotel.

We do various things, not only for the hotel and its employees, we do outreach in the community. Our team volunteers at the rescue mission, handing out the groceries for families. This is again, a very humbling experience.

We also choose a place to focus our fundraising for the year.Last year it was the Christmas store in Salem.

This year, after relentless efforts, it is for Sleep In Heavenly Peace- and I am thrilled!

We have an annual Valentines Bake sale that I am a co- captain on ( and bake for)

We are very quickly achieving our goal.

I am an avid runner - took a year off last year, did a marathon in Hawaii the Christmas prior. I've accomplished all the runs, 5,10, half , full) so now I just run for fun.
