Ellie Fadely

• At St. Mary's Reinhart Guest House, I volunteered with a group of friends from my school last May and we cleaned the house for the residents staying there. With my friends, I cleaned the kitchen in the house, including cleaning out the fridge, stove, cabinets, etc., did loads of laundry, washing and folding linens and towels for the residents, and organizing a play room for the children who stay in the house.
• At the Shine Forth Center, I went with my friend in November and we hung out with kids who were in the process of being adopted. We got to know them, ate a Thanksgiving meal with them, did crafts with them, and overall had a really heartwarming experience.
• I volunteered at the Red Door Ministry last May with a group of friends from my school. We cooked a huge meal and organized a cookie platter which we then served to our guests as they came in. The purpose of this was to provide meals for those who are less fortunate and to get to know each person and their story as they came through.
• Another volunteering experience that I have is when I packed lunches with my grade for the Caritas organization. These lunches went to a program that houses those struggling with housing and addiction problems.
• I am part of a group, which I have been in for 2 years, where I raise around 1,000 dollars. These proceeds go towards 2 shopping days at Dick's Sporting Goods which were in December. Families who are less fortunate come from all over Richmond and get partnered with someone from my group.
• Lastly, I am apart of an LLS group that works to raise money to find a cure for blood cancer. I have raised money for this group as well through pitches to family and friends.

I am currently 15 years old and a sophomore in high school, but will be turning 16 in June. I have been babysitting since I was 12, which started with my younger brother and my neighbors. I have my CPR and heimlich certification from doing a class with the Red Cross 2 summers ago. I do all sorts of things on the job, like playing games, cooking meals, baking, making fun movies and dances, reading, going on walks, etc. I always make sure to leave the houses cleaner than when I came so that the parents always come home to a clean house.
