Maintain the work schedule for Sussex County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division consisting of twenty-four patrol staff. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining court staffing, training scheduling, vehicle maintenance, and equipment inventory.

Council public school students on special situations.
Maintain records for all inmates and coordinate their release by ensuring that proper documents for both processes are completed accurately. Conduct security checks to ensure the security of detained inmates. Ensure that inmates comply with the rules and regulations of the jail. Maintain discipline and control of the jail.
Provide safety and good order to the community. Identify criminal offenders and criminal activity where appropriate, apprehend offenders, and participate in the subsequent court proceedings. Reduce the opportunities for the commission of crime through preventative patrol and other measures.
