Work History

City Carrier Assistant

United States Postal Service, USPS
11.2024 - Current

Performed the regular duties of a letter carrier, which include (but not limited to):

  • Mail delivery
  • Parcel delivery
  • Outgoing mail collections direct from customers or via blue collection boxes

I worked all types of delivery which include walking routes, all driving routes, apartment CBUs, and dismounting routes. I currently work six days a week and up to twelve hours a day.

Assistant Manager of Merchandising

Old Navy
07.2021 - 01.2025

As the AMM of the Lynnhaven Old Navy, I was primarily responsible for the Kids and Baby department. I handled everything regarding this department which includes (but not limited to):

  • Planning the placement of new products before our shipment days (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  • Planned the execution of the visual styling guide monthly. This starts with receiving the visual guide typically towards the beginning of the month and this showcases all the new products, their location, and exactly how HQ wants the store to look. After receiving the "book", I would plan the layouts on some grid paper and meticulously draw everything out. After walking through the plans with the General Manager and gaining their approval (with or without minor tweaks), I'd start prepping for the actual moves throughout the week before. For example, I might update the mannequins if we have the product and these would help to cut down the time needed for the actual set. On the morning of the set, I'd assign my associates a department relative to their strengths and I'd trust them to execute according to my plan. Some associates are more independent, while others would constantly need direction. We were given about five hours to complete the entire operation and I could count on one hand the number of times we didn't finish.
  • When not the MOD, I would be situated within my department: cleaning and folding clothes, assisting customers, and keeping an eye on the associates assigned to my departments.

I started at Old Navy as a Brand Associate and ended up working in all areas of the store. On the sales floor, I excelled at folding the clothes and cleaning up fixtures. In the fitting rooms, I maintained a clean and organized space while still interacting with customers. At the cash wrap, I was quick to complete transactions and I was one of the top card performers at the store (I still hold the record of thirteen card applications processed in one day).

I was promoted to Assistant Manager of Merchandising less than a year after I'd started. In this role, I was responsible for around twenty-five employees. I learned many skills including cash handling, security deposits, customer deescalation, time sheet management, and many more.

Facilities Team Member

Virginia Beach Field House
08.2018 - 03.2020

Responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. I worked mornings Monday through Friday and was primarily tasked with cleaning the restrooms. Other responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Cleaning the plexiglass walls surrounding the indoor soccer fields
  • Sweeping the walkways
  • Picking up trash on the exterior of the premises
  • Vacuuming the office area and taking out any trash there
  • Removing trash from the myriad of garbage bins located around the facility, replacing them with an empty bag, and rolling the trash out to the dumpster
  • Deep cleaning the bathrooms at the start of the week which includes scrubbing down the toilets, scrubbing the walls and showers, and generally just ensuring the bathrooms are spotless in order to just maintain it throughout the week
  • Used a zamboni-like machine to clean the basketball courts
  • Occasionally there'd be small projects, like replacing lightbulbs or dusting hard to reach areas
  • At one point, another team member and I were tasked with setting up Pickle Ball courts which we accomplished with tape on the courts and ended up creating four entire courts. On the days where Pickle Ball was to be played, we'd be responsible for setting up the nets.
  • Prior to wrestling tournaments, we'd be the ones to set up all the mats and to ensure they're cleaned before and afterwards.
  • Once a season, we'd remove the bleachers from the facility and use a pressure washer to hose them down.

Game Advisor

GameStop
08.2018 - 06.2019

As a Game Advisor, I was the main point of contact for most customers. This would include helping a guest to find a specific product, if they asked for a recommendation I'd give my recommendations, I'd complete transactions at the register while selling our Loyalty program and warranty, would conduct trade ins of video games, phones, and consoles while following proper procedures, and sold preorders to ensure future business. While not dealing with customers, I would clean up the sales floor by straightening the game shelves, picking up products off the floor, fixing our Funko Pop wall, and after close I'd vacuum the store every night.

Cashier/Dishwasher

Chic-Fil-A
12.2017 - 07.2018

As a Cashier, I worked Front of House and interacted with guests directly. I would be the one to take their orders while highlighting any specific requests, I'd prepare their drinks, and also made specific desserts.

As a Dishwasher, I worked Back of House and performed all the duties of a dishwasher. I'd also been given extra responsibilities including squeezing out fresh lemon juice from lemons for our lemonade, I was tasked with running to the freezers to bring out fries, and I was also responsible for rotating the chicken in our thawing cabinets.

Collision Repair Technician

Bay Automotive
06.2016 - 09.2017

I was primarily responsible for the prep-work for other technicians. This includes (but not limited to):

  • Removing body panels for focused repair
  • Removing the internals of a door, including the glass
  • Sanding down a panel prior to a bondo or resin repair

After the repair and paint, I'd be responsible for putting everything back exactly how it was. This includes ensuring all gaps are even and symmetrical on both sides.
