- Visually inspect joist welds for defects in compliance with AWS D1.1 and SJI standards
- Rework defective welds by air arc gouging and replacing with proper weld
- Keep record of defective welds with daily quality reports turned into supervisor weekly
- Assist welders with welding of joist on a daily basis
- Ensure product is fabricated per shoporder/blueprints and all welds are correct size and length
- Inspect welds for defects such as undercut, porosity, cracks, overlap, incomplete penetration, and lack of fusion

- Perform repairs in the field of joist needing modification for engineering or design flaws
