To provide for the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of the specialized low voltage systems at Navy Federal Credit Union.
Responsibilities
Inspects, analyzes and determines best way to maintain, repair or install systems and cables
Cable installation includes: placement, termination, testing, labeling and documentation
Electrical system voltages: 28-48 volt AC/DC, 120, 277-480 volt AC
Researches system problems or maintenance needs: refers to operation, maintenance and repair manuals, and system schematics; troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions or problems; and disassembling affected
Recommends specifications to the supervisor for upgrades/changes to improve system performance
Participates in the procurement of equipment
Assists with the design of new or upgraded low voltage systems
Researches, documents and observes compliance with Navy Federal, local, state and federal regulatory guidelines pertaining to electrical systems
Provides backup operation for emergency power generator or UPS supporting the datacenter
Updates and maintains system diagrams
Maintains knowledge of electrical, fire, and building codes, and EPA, ADA and OSHA laws and regulations
Coordinates with the Supervisor to developer preventive maintenance schedules
Assists supervisor with in-house and contracted low voltage projects
Provides technical assistance and guidance to personnel within the Facility Management Division, Physical Security Branch, and Information Services Division
Assists in developing contract specifications and reviewing contractual undertakings including the design development and review of technical documentation/blueprints for technical accuracy, constructability, and compatibility with existing systems and equipment
Works closely with the various levels of Navy Federal employees, contractors, vendors, to ensure scheduled completion of project and to resolve problems
Assists the Safety Officer in administering Life Safety - Emergency Evacuation/Fire Drills, Fire Extinguisher Maintenance, Fire Alarm System - Fire Marshall Occupancy Inspections and Annual Testing, reports findings of each inspection, and follow up on corrective action and with Elevator Inspections and Bi-Annual testing of Fire Recall and Emergency Power
Performs the major duties of the Supervisor in the absence of the incumbent
Performs other related duties as assigned or appropriate
