Role & Scope

• Provide terminal radar separation services at Potomac TRACON (PCT), one of the highest-complexity terminal control environments in the United States, managing an area of approximately 3,800-3,900 daily operations across the National Capital Region.
• Hold a Certified Professional Controller (CPC) rating within the Mount Vernon (MTV) area, which manages 2,200-2,500 daily operations, responsible for arrival sequencing and separation into two major aerodromes, sequencing 3 arrival flows for another major airports and integration of departures from four international/major airports and multiple satellite fields simultaneously.

Traffic Complexity & Multi-Airport Coordination

• Sequence and separate arriving aircraft into Reagan National (DCA) and Joint Base Andrews (ADW), managing converging flows in a high-density, time-critical environment with significant terrain and airspace constraints
• Blend and integrate departure traffic from Washington Dulles (IAD), Reagan National (DCA), Andrews (ADW), Baltimore/Washington (BWI), and multiple satellite aerodromes into continuous, conflict-free flows — a coordination task directly analogous to multi-airport TCU operations.
• Routinely manage VIP and head-of-state aircraft movements — including Air Force One and equivalent executive transport — coordinating priority sequencing with adjacent units and national security agencies without major disruption to normal traffic flows.

Airspace Environment

• Operate within one of the world's most restricted and security-sensitive terminal airspace structures, including the Washington SFRA, multiple overlapping special use areas, and frequent short-notice temporary flight restrictions — requiring rapid replanning and real-time coordination under pressure.
• Consistently maintain separation standards and traffic flow efficiency in an environment where procedural rigidity must be balanced with dynamic, high-stakes decision-making.

Safety Culture & Collaboration

• Active contributor to facility safety forums and operational working groups, applying frontline controller experience to procedure review, risk identification, and safety improvement initiatives.
• Engaged with safety management processes to include SRMs which seem to be consistent with ICAO SMS frameworks, supporting a proactive rather than reactive approach to operational risk.

• Held dual certification as a tower and approach control specialist at an FAA Level 5 combined up/down facility, providing both aerodrome control and terminal radar separation services
• Delivered tower services including runway management, ground movements, and clearance issuance in a mixed-traffic environment serving commercial, general aviation, and military operations
• Provided approach and departure radar services within the ALO TRACON, managing IFR and VFR traffic across the terminal area and coordinating with adjacent facilities for transitioning aircraft
• Developed foundational proficiency across all ATC disciplines — ground, local, and radar — in a lower-density environment, building procedural accuracy and multi-role flexibility prior to progression to a high-complexity terminal facility

Air Traffic Control Specialist — Missouri Air National Guard / United States Air Force Rosecrans Memorial Airport (KSTJ), St. Joseph, MO | Various Deployed Locations

• Served as a military air traffic controller with the Missouri Air National Guard, including periods of active duty service in support of operational deployments across domestic and international locations
• Held dual tower and radar certification, providing both aerodrome control and approach/departure radar services at Rosecrans Memorial Airport TRACON as primary duty station
• Deployed to and provided ATC services across a range of environments including Kirkuk, Iraq and Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, demonstrating adaptability to unfamiliar airspace, procedures, and operational conditions
• Served as controller for multiple military and civilian airshow events, managing non-standard traffic flows, high-density VFR operations, and coordination with civilian and military agencies in a special event environment
• Operated across tower and radar disciplines in both peacetime and operationally deployed environments, applying military ATC procedures and adapting to varied traffic types including fighter, cargo, rotary, and civilian aircraft
