Work History

Deli clerk/Cook

The Fresh Market
Virginia Beach
09.2024 - Current
  • I currently work at The Fresh Market in the deli department, cooking ready-to-eat foods.
  • Daily, I follow food safety guidelines and provide quality customer service to excel at both technical and social aspects of my job.
  • As the cook, I am responsible for keeping up with demand for a variety of different food items and ensuring that customers can be confident in our consistency to provide high-quality meals.
  • Another key role in my position is keeping a well-documented and organized record of perishable inventory.
  • Ensuring the freshness of this food plays a role in both food safety and proper record keeping.
  • This job also requires good communication and teamwork.
  • Coordination with coworkers is essential in maintaining a productive and effective department.
  • I pride myself on the hard work and quick learning I’ve done in this job.

Team Lead

The Snoball Shop
Virginia Beach
09.2018 - Current
  • As a team leader at the snoball shop, I managed the employees on duty.
  • I was in charge of training new hires as well as keeping the shop clean, organized, and operational throughout my shifts.
  • A daily shift consists of taking and fulfilling orders while working as a team to make sure we have the resources to hand out quality snoballs consistently.
  • Working at the snoball shop required a lot of face-to-face customer service.
  • Whether an order got messed up or a customer just wasn’t happy, it was our job to make sure we did what we could to keep our customers satisfied and returning for more.
  • Within the last year, I have started working for this company again as the event manager.
  • I must set up and run events from a mobile trailer.
  • Events often run into an issue or two, and it is my responsibility to address and correct these issues.

Detailer/Lot Attendant

My Car LLC
Virginia Beach
02.2022 - 07.2024
  • I have been working for over a year as both a detailer and a lot attendant.
  • My day-to-day work here consists of anything from cleaning and maintaining cars on our lot to changing oil and tires.
  • Most days require you to work in the elements, so I’m no stranger to a hot summer day.
  • Another responsibility of this job is driving vehicles to and from service.
  • Most trips are more than a mile away and require focus and responsible driving.
  • During my time here, I have been given more and more influence over the work I do and the business as a whole.
  • Many customers come to me directly when they have minor issues with their vehicle or need their newly purchased vehicle detailed before leaving the lot, so customer service is just as much a part of this job as the physical labor is.
  • Problem solving and research were often required to fulfill the customer's needs.

Shift Lead

Go Car Wash
Virginia Beach
02.2020 - 01.2022
  • I worked at Rio Car Wash for almost 2 years.
  • I started as a customer sales associate (CSA) and was promoted to lead CSA.
  • I was responsible for opening and closing the store as well as leading the team on duty.
  • While working, my main duties were either selling washes to customers or loading cars into the car wash, I also had to take on various other tasks that included fixing and cleaning the machinery and keeping the store grounds clean.
  • As a lead, I am responsible for handling any problems that may occur on my shift, whether that’s mechanical issues or an issue with a customer.
  • Being able to address a problem on the spot was very important; even a minor disruption to the flow of cars would cause a major backup, which in turn causes customers to become disgruntled.
  • Handling damage claims and memberships was also the responsibility of the team lead.
  • Upset customers would come to me with any issues they may have, and it was my job to work them through it and get to a place of content.
