Kaitlyn is here to work on becoming a professional dancer and choreographer. She feels this has been the place she has felt the most determination and support she has ever felt. Kaitlyn has found ways she can take risks and make mistakes and have it be okay before she steps out into the real world. Being in college has made Kaitlyn feel good about the preparation she is receiving for what is to come out there in the real world. Kaitlyn wants to go more of the musical theatre path. She is hoping to do Broadway and or National Tours, but she is open to Cruise Ships and whatever jobs/ auditions she can get her hands on. While she is performing, she would love to teach at studios and set choreography in schools or studios. Once that chapter on performing is over, she would love to open her own studio. Kaitlyn’s goals are to have a successful and long career. She doesn't know where she is going to end up, but in the end, it doesn’t matter as long as she is still doing what she is passionate about. Kaitlyn values treating others with respect and kindness, just like how she would like to be treated in return.
I teach Jazz 1 and Adult Jazz. Jazz 1 is a beginner-level class for children ages 7-10. My adult class is beginner level for ages 18 and up. I have done coaching for the children at the Arts Academy for their solo dance ensemble show. The kids I worked with were 11 and 15. I have also been a substitute teacher. I taught Ballet B for ages 6-7. I taught Beginner/Intermediate Contemporary ages 11-16. Pre-Ballet and Ballet C. I have done Jazz 3 with is ages 13-18.
I demonstrate ballet with Professor Mary Robare. I have demonstrated ballet to the musical theater majors and the freshman dance majors. I demonstrate for Professor Mary Robare at the Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy for her lyrical 3 class.
I have been the assistant choreographer for this theater camp for going on 3 seasons now. I teach the kids a fun dance class in the morning, getting them moving and working on all the steps by themselves, and we put on the show. We start with a nice cardio warm-up, go into stretching, across the floor, and work on whatever dance numbers are done. I help do a lot of the cleaning for the numbers. The students I am working with range from 10 to 18, and all have different levels, some with dance experience and some with zero, and we are starting from square one. Our overall goal is to make every student feel confident with what they are doing onstage.
I taught ballet, jazz, lyrical, and leaps and turns at Betty's. I taught ages 9-16, and they were at all different levels.
I taught ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, leaps and turns, and conditioning. I taught ages 7-17, and they were all at different levels.
I was a teacher's assistant at my dance studio growing up. I worked with all ages, mainly ages 1.5 to 13. The styles I would assist are tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary, and musical theater.
