  • Ms. Volzer is currently the Project Manager of the FRA Engineering Process Review Call Order. In this role she will manage the project team to ensure that the scope of work requirements, schedule, cost and client satisfaction are met.
  • Ms. Volzer is currently the project manager for work that provides direct support to the PPFL Associate Director. This support includes PPFL submissions to servicewide efforts, program framework development, project tracking, data retrieval and data analysis, Department of Interior (DOI) goals reporting and tracking, development of briefing statements, memoranda and presentations. These tasks support the day-to-day requirements for effective and efficient management of the Directorate.
  • Ms. Volzer serves as project manager for Project revAMP under the PPFL Directorate. In this role, she is overseeing the transformation of the asset management life cycle, strengthening the service-wide investment strategy, and coordinating the integration of PPFL’s divisions to ensure endorsement across the facility management community and lasting change. She manages a team in the development of schedules, business practices, implementation plans and communication strategies.
  • Ms. Volzer served as project manager and led a PMO team providing asset management expertise to the NPS CS Program. She provided functional expertise in the form of project management, business practice development, asset management, strategic planning, training/communications, and analysis/reporting. Serves as the task manager and key point of contact for the CS Asset Management Consultant Services task order, overseeing all workstreams within the work plan including Condition Assessment support, leaseholder surrender interest determinations, Asset Management 101 training development and facilitation, and concessioner maintenance work plans. Ms. Volzer is also involved in shaping the CS Asset Management Branch’s annual work plan to meet the goals of the program chief.
  • Ms. Volzer supported the NPS PFMD Park Alpha Team by maintaining the official FMSS Park Alpha List. She provided communications and work group facilitation to ensure all system stakeholders are involved in any park alpha changes within FMSS. Ms. Volzer has also provided asset management support to the NPS. She is involved with the Utilities Work Group to help define and articulate business requirements and specific data needs. She has also supported a PAMP trip to Grand Teton National Park and assisted in analyzing the park’s asset data and providing a snapshot of the park’s asset portfolio, enabling them to better understand and articulate the current state of their portfolio and the funding requirements. She assisted in the analysis of managing the gap between the park’s current funding and the O&M/project funding needs by prioritizing assets and projects and ultimately documented the work by drafting Grand Teton National Park’s Asset Management Plan.

United States Geological Survey (USGS)
  • Managed the development of the 2022 USGS Strategic Facilities Master Plan (SFMP). This +200 page strategic plan determined the adequacy of the current USGS real estate portfolio in meeting the missions and needs of the USGS’s diverse science programs. With Ms. Volzer’s leadership, the team understood the challenges presented to USGS through a thorough data collection process and gap analysis between the current and future state. Ultimately Ms. Volzer and her team developed recommendations for the ideal future state and a road map for transition.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
  • Conducted DM condition assessments on all the NASA facilities at two of their largest centers. The information collected in the assessments was used to support NASA's Annual Accountability Report and to develop and justify the agency’s annual budget.

Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Supported the DoD by conducting facility assessments as part of the BRAC Joint Basing implementation and assisted with data analysis. The assessment and analysis of these facilities helped DoD make decisions about the potential transfer of real property.

United States Geological Survey (USGS)
  • Assisted in conducting and drafting a five-year space utilization plan for the USGS. The plan analyzed USGS data and presented opportunities to improve space utilization while focusing on mission dependency and program requirements. The USGS uses this plan to support space management decisions; it has also supported the development of the Department of the Interior’s strategic plan.

Favorite Nps Project

My favorite NPS projects have been the Commercial Services Asset Management 101 Trainings. I traveled to parks to meet, train, and interact with several NPS employees from parks servicewide. These trainings have allowed me to expand my knowledge from a field perspective and share my asset management expertise with a wide range of NPS employees.
