HAZMAT: Store any corrosives, oil and damaging liquids away from customer vehicle. Used products to be emptied in labeled tanks or containers. Verify proper placards with all information to be listed are visible and not damaged. Shadow OSHA personnel during inspections to confirm all proper procedures are in place with storage, containment and securement of hazardous items are accurate.
COMMUNICATION: Greet guests and confirm information, such as guest name, mileage and services to be completed. Elaborate on extra services offered and include price, how service helps, and recommendation to complete based on mileage. Explain what call outs mean to guest if they have questions and why it is important. Elaborate on if any damage is notated on the vehicle caused by external factors outside of Valvoline. Refer customer to full service shop if vehicle is leaking fluids.
INVENTORY: Cross reference order sheet with purchase order number paperwork. Double check correct item and quantity was shipped and received. Complete paperwork for verification of arrival on air filters, oil filters, wiper blades and liquid products, such as refrigerant and coolant. Store all products in correct areas of the store. Complete visual inspections of oil tanks and coolant reservoir according to company protocol. Store materials by hazard type and separate based on placards.
MATERIAL HANDLING: Pick items based on pick pages, cross-reference documentation of customer purchase orders or overstock. Review material packaging and labeling for total accuracy of outbound shipment. Receive product from external supply companies, confirm item received/labeling matches paperwork. Document discrepancies regarding inventory issues, material condition and packaging labeling. Secure full pallets and record weights on weight sheet to correctly even distribution of product to prevent shifting or tip over in trailer bed.
INVENTORY: Ensure inventory counts are correct for inbound and outbound shipments. Conduct physical inventory count, validating physical versus warehouse management system counts. Acknowledge discrepancies and notate damage to shipment.
HAZMAT: Ensure proper weight of hazmat and confirm it is under 1,000 pounds due to DOT transportation requirements. Verify and cross reference weight notated on product to bill of lading. Place all hazmat on the tail of the trailer for weight station and regulations. Once loaded, verify hazmat labeling is facing outward and secure load using straps and edge protectors. Store unloaded hazmat materials in the hazard locker for security and safety.
MATERIAL HANDLING: Process documentation pertaining to shipment, generating correct labels. Verify accuracy of information such as proper name, address and other identifiers. Label boxes on live animal shipments with correct stickers and proper facing arrows. Record weight and dimensions, completing correct paperwork on contents of package if being shipped internationally, complying with customs agents and regulations depending on zone. Take and place in correct staging area depending on size, weight or labeling.
HAZMAT: Ensure proper paperwork and placards are on package in the correct spots. Place package in HAZARDOUS area to be staged at rear of van during transport to airport. Confirm accurate dimensions and weight of package physically and on paperwork. Follow OSHA ordinance for transport of hazmat goods. Store and arrange hazmat separately and securely from non-hazmat shipments.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Work with customer complaints and redelivery attempts. Take phone calls or address via email and COGNOS system. Ensure accurate information regarding address, tracking number and description of incident. Follow up with driver to confirm information such as delivery, where package was left/description of residence or packaging quality.
