My name is Mason Croll. I was born in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in the Midlothian/Chesterfield area. I attended and graduated from Cosby High School. I then went on to pursue my Associates in Science (and Bachelors in Geology in the future) at Brightpoint Community College. After a few semesters, my parents moved to Stafford, Virginia. I moved with them and I now attend Northern Virginia Community College under the same major.
I have worked in the restaurant business as a busser at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse, where I learned valuable cleaning and sanitization skills, as well as customer service and team building. I have also worked as a state employee at Pocahontas State Park. Here I was able to really put my previous work skills to the test, with long days cleaning facilities in less than ideal conditions. I also learned many landscaping skills and spent lots of time interacting with and assisting the public.
I am licensed to drive and will have no difficulty with transportation to the workplace.
I am a highly motivated worker, always looking to expand on my knowledge and experience as a staff member. I hope to develop even more skills in this position and to work at your establishment as an exceptional employee.
During my employment at Pocahontas State Park, I was responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all park facilities. This included bathrooms, lodges and cabins, dining halls, amphitheaters, visitor centers, picnic shelters and pools. I also got experience with various landscaping including mowing, weedeating and leaf blowing. My employees and I were each responsible for a vehicle and supplies within the vehicle used to ensure bathrooms and other facilities were stocked with necessary toiletries. On special occasions we assisted with concerts and sporting events that took place in the park such as bike and running races. Most of the day was spent inside cleaning and the rest was generally outside properly discarding litter, answering questions about the park and interacting with visitors, emptying trash cans and cleaning picnic shelters.
While working at Yamato, I maintained a clean and safe dining environment by sweeping, vacuuming and mopping floors, wiping down surfaces, and keeping walkways clear of debris. This included the sustainment of cleanliness in the kitchen, dining floor, bathrooms and front of the house. I also assisted other employees with sanitization and food prep, including managers, bar staff, servers and chefs. I was also responsible for meeting the needs and requests of our customers at all times, from questions about food to helping clean a spill. During closing hours, the other bussers and I were tasked with emptying kitchen and waiting area trash, mopping the kitchen, sweeping, dishes and occasionaly prep for the opening shifts.
