With all the jobs I've had in the past, it all adds up to a hard working individual who prioritizes having a good time with his team and the guests we serve while putting the guests safety and happiness before my own. At the same time, being an Amazon Warehouse Worker and Cold Stone Creamery Shift Leader taught me about discipline in the workplace, and it's not something I take lightly. I love that all of my jobs taught me to be a better person both in and out of the workplace, and I can't wait to continue on my journey of learning all that I can in the workforce!
As a team member at Chick-Fil-A, I was constantly moving around the restaurant filling any spot that the managers would ask me to be in. I was trained as an order taker (both inside and outside), I was a cash handler (inside and out), and I was also on drinks, as well as many more positions throughout the store. I was able to take orders in Spanish, which furthered my interest in becoming bilingual. I knew enough Spanish to get by, but actually being bilingual, that could make a difference for me in the work industry, especially somewhere like Chick-Fil-A.
As a ride operator at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, we were in charge of (above all else) guest safety while operating the rides. We followed height, weight, and other qualifying requirements for the guests' safety. We had to follow safety procedures exactly as they were written and explained to us, to make sure that guests were safe while enjoying the ride at the same time.
At Amazon, we would have to be able to lift heavy packages and bins off of the conveyor belt, and we would go through each returned package to make sure it was good to be sent back out, or if there was something wrong with it, we had to send it to another part of the warehouse to be properly disposed of. We would spend the entire shift on our feet, staying active. Amazon definitely focuses on teamwork, because they've always got the backs of their workers.
As a right hand worker for the manager, I would have to make sure that the store was always running as quickly and efficiently as possible. As shift leaders, we would have to take inventory regularly, deescalate any situation that might arise with a guest, make sure that everyone's staying focused as they should be, as well as open and close the store when the manager is not there.
I was trained on register, handling cash outside, as well as being an inside and outside order taker, all while making sure that a guest was having a good experience with us at Chick-Fil-A. I was also taught how to do drinks, serve food, and bag food, while going the extra mile for the guest.
