• Served as the main point of contact for the state of West Virginia, with mental health intake appraisals for the parole board regional facilities. Actively contributed to medical meetings, integral within an interdisciplinary team for comprehensive inmate care under the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) guidelines. Provided brief supportive counseling for a diverse caseload of clients. Worked with individuals and groups to promote effective functioning and reduce maladaptive behaviors.

Performed mental health intake appraisals for a diverse inmate population seeking support with concerns affecting them within the facility and across the community. Consulted with medical staff and the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) staff on assorted care issues. Facilitated imperative, inclusive, and supportive documentation, while delivering various therapeutic interventions. Continually recognized to redesign a process that led to productivity and a 50% increase in time management savings.

Facilitated an action plan for release and rehabilitation to aid in reintegration, while corresponding with outside agencies. Partnered with attorneys, circuit, and magistrate courts, mental health centers, parole officers, drug courts, parole board members, and other outside entities. Hired and managed inmate trustee workers, and maintained a safe and positive leadership role. Conducted prison rape elimination act (PREA) assessments with inmates, and diminished the level of aggression in inmate behaviors by refocusing their attention on a solution.
