STEVEN SKALSKI

Performs duties as a firefighter assigned to firefighting. Performs daily preventive maintenance inspections on assigned vehicles at the beginning of each shift and after each response. I apply my knowledge of firefighting, hydraulics, forcible entry, ventilation, and EMS skills. Apply driver operator techniques in daily operations and incidents. Keep apparatus, equipment, tools, and firefighting ensemble in clean condition. Participate in drills and conduct and receive training on fire suppression and rescue operations relative to structural, vehicle and rope rescue. Also performs ventilation of structures also performs salvage and overhaul. Performs rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim for transport to a medical facility. Participates in regular training and exercises as required.

• Blue Line investments is a real estate investment company run by myself and my Wife Maryann Skalski. We buy and rehab properties all over the tidewater area and remotely, we do simple rehabs all the way to full guts and replacements.

• I have been operating this business since 2006. I have done just about all trades I am licensed for. I have done all phases of construction from simple repairs to full kitchen and bathroom remodels. I set up all the ordering of supplies for my customers to ensure the proper materials are purchased and that they are getting exactly what they are looking for. This job is done when I am not working for the fire department. My daily tasks are going to customers homes and perform the work they have requested. I take all the calls for service and do all the estimating.

Keep apparatus, equipment, tools, and firefighting ensemble in clean condition. Participate in drills and conduct and receive training on fire suppression and rescue operations relative to structural, automobile, and aircraft firefighting techniques. Performs as hose man, ladder man, and hydrant man on structural firefighting equipment. Also performs ventilation of structures also performs salvage and overhaul. Performs rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim for transport to a medical facility. Participates in regular training and exercises as required.

• Duties were to set up medical station for students for their practical sessions in class. Stations were set up within the VA State guideline for testing purposes. The student would come to a station and be expected to perform the skills needed to pass the practical exam at the state test sites. My job was to guide the students and make sure they were performing their skills right and proficiently. Also assisted with other duties as needed

• Standby and various events in the city of Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Hampton. Duties are to report for duty at a specific time and check off the EMS equipment. When the event starts i am to either be at specific location, to stage or be ready for any medical emergency that should arise. If there is a medical emergency i am to stabilize the patient while waiting for outside EMS to arrive if the person needs to be transported. If not then i treat and release

• Daily tasks included putting together the orders and separating them to be giving out to the crew. I supervised up to 8 workers to make sure they were working and putting the orders for the day together the right way. I was also responsible for checking the orders before they were transported to the packing shed for final check and then they would be loaded onto the truck for delivery.

• I took crews into the field to harvest various crops to fill orders for the day. I operated various size farm tractors and implements, fork lifts straight trucks and tractor trailers. I delivered various products from the farm on both short and medium distances travels to our customers.
