Summary

I am a middle school English teacher with over 23 years of teaching experience and a strong passion for developing lessons that engage my students in reading and writing. In my current English teaching position, I serve as a team leader for my 8th-grade team, teach gifted/talented students as well as students with special needs, facilitate parent-teacher communication, and mentor new teachers. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy working with students one-on-one as a private reading/writing tutor where I help students learn to read and become stronger readers and writers. Over the years, I have served as an assistant track coach, teacher mentor, writing center coordinator, and multiple club sponsors. During the summer of 2024, I received my Everyday Behavior Tools Certification. Each day, I strive to help young people become stronger readers and writers.
