Software Developer on the VPC Security Groups team working on distributed systems.
Led the Security Group Sharing Feature, coordinating with cross-function teams and driving execution from design through launch.
Designed high level architecture reviewed and approved by senior engineers and product managers across VPC teams.
Owned and delivered the most technically complex components of the project, while delivering other parts of the project through other junior engineers on the team. Designed and delivered robust, fault-tolerant APIs to ensure high availability (99.999999%) and correctness of Security Group APIs used by millions of AWS customers.
Led the migration of core security group data from MySQL to DynamoDb to address scalability bottlenecks. Designed a new DynamoDB schema and migration strategy vetted by principal engineers. Designed the API changes required for the migration.
Oncall expert for the team, driving incident resolution and mentoring junior engineers to become on-call ready. Led operational calls across teams, escalating with leadership as needed.
Interviewed over 20 engineers and mentored 2 interns and 2 entry-level software engineers to success.
