Accomplishments
In 2014 the city promoted me to the Supervisor of the sewer department. The department was poorly managed and I was recognized as a strong candidate to manage this department.
In 2017 the city was in need of a division to manage site inspections and stormwater. The city was facing an audit from the DEQ and needed to comply with its MS-4 program. I was chosen to lead this newly founded department and quickly established myself and team to bring the city into compliance with the state. With little to no experience I got to work and earned several state certifications to satisfy the cities MS-4 compliance.
In 2022 I was recognized as the leading candidate to assume the role of the Public Works Superintendent as the existing Superintendent was set to retire. I had been the "de facto" Superintendent since 2014 and acted as the Superintendent in the absence of the titled Superintendent. I was given full operational control of Public Works in 2021 as a "mirroring program" to aid in the transition of the Superintendent position.
In 2024 I was recognized as the 2024 employee of the year for the City of Manassas Park. In large part for refining the department and implementing new strategies to operate more effectively and efficiently.
I have overseen or been a key role in several projects to include Moseby and Denver Drive culvert replacements, Safe Schools Route, Phase V Water Improvements, Water Interconnect Vaults, Sanitary Sewer relining projects, AMI Smart Water Meter Project, (3) Water Storage Tank Rehabilitations. Kent Drive complete street rehabilitation project.
